Check what applies to your registration

GCE arrangements can differ between examination series and candidate categories. We deliberately do not publish a single universal structure here, because a confident-sounding but wrong description would be worse than none. Confirm the requirements for your own series with the examining body.

What does transfer

Whatever series you are sitting, the preparation method is the same: study the topic, attempt questions without looking at the answer, work out why you got things wrong, revise, and come back to it later. Timed practice matters just as much here as anywhere else.

The subject content is the same content

Whatever your series or candidate category, the Biology, Mathematics or Economics you need to know does not change. That means the question sets on this site are useful to you even where the paper structure differs — practise the material, then check how your particular examination presents it.

Confirm the practical details yourself

• Which subjects you are registered for, and how many.
• Which components each of those subjects includes.
• Your examination dates and the order they fall in.
• What you are permitted to bring into the hall.

These are the details that cause avoidable problems on the day, and they are the ones second-hand advice most often gets wrong.
