There are colored balls in a basket. The balls are 4 red, 1 green, x -yellow and 4x -blue balls. The probability of picking a red ball is 0.2. What is the sum of the probability of picking a yellow and a blue ball?

  • A. 1/4
  • B. 3/4Correct
  • C. 2/5
  • D. 1/2

Explanation

Total = 5 + 5x and 4/(5 + 5x) = 0.2, so 5 + 5x = 20 and x = 3. Yellow = 3 and blue = 12, so P = 15/20 = 3/4.
