Model answer (letter to a friend): Saint Anne's School, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. 7th August 2023. Dear Biodun, I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. It has been too long since we last connected, and I thought it would be great to share some exciting updates about my school and catch up with you on everything that's been happening. First and foremost, let me introduce you to my school, Saint Anne's School. It is a prestigious institution located in Ibadan, known for its academic excellence, vibrant extracurricular activities, and a diverse and inclusive community. As the Sports Prefect, I have been actively involved in organising various sports events and encouraging our fellow students to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. Recently, we participated in an inter-school sports festival, where we competed with other schools in different disciplines, showcasing our athletic talents and camaraderie. On the academic front, our school has consistently excelled in various national and international competitions, with the focus on holistic education ensuring students are equipped with knowledge, critical thinking skills, empathy and creativity. Moving on to my advice for you, my dear friend, I would encourage you to explore opportunities for personal growth and learning in your new environment. Embrace the diverse culture and experiences that come with living in another country. While adapting to a new place can be challenging, remember to stay true to yourself and hold on to the values and principles that define you. Seek out like-minded individuals and form meaningful connections with people who share your interests and passions. Stay focused on your academic pursuits and make the most of the educational opportunities available to you. Lastly, keep in touch with your loved ones back home, including me! I am confident that you will thrive in your new environment, my friend. Take care, and always remember that you have a friend here, cheering you on from across the miles. Warmest regards, Yours sincerely, Rosemary.
