1(b)(i) Draw line AB = 120 mm and construct an angle of 30° at point A.
Model answer
1. Draw the line AB = 120 mm. 2. With the compasses centre at A and any convenient radius, draw an arc that cuts AB at P. 3. With the same radius and centre P, draw an arc to cut the first arc at Q. Angle QAB = 60°. 4. With centres P and Q and the same radius (more than half PQ), draw two arcs that cross at R. 5. Join A to R and extend it. Angle RAB = 30° (the bisector of the 60° angle). 6. Show all construction arcs and label the angle 30°.
