(a) y = 180° - (30° + 64°) = 86° (angles on a straight line).
x = 180° - 135° = 45° (angles on a straight line).
z = 180° - (86° + 45°) = 49° (angles in a triangle).
(b) Σfx = (9x3) + (10x5) + (12x2) + (13x2) + (15x3) = 27 + 50 + 24 + 26 + 45 = 172
Σf = 3 + 5 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 15
Mean = 172 ÷ 15 = 11.47 = 11.5 (1 d.p.)
(a) Evaluate 11011₂ + 1111₂.
(b) Solve the equation (2x - 1)/(3 - 4x) = 2/5.
(c) Find the rate per annum if ₦36,000.00 is paid as simple interest on ₦120,000.00 deposited in a bank for 3 years.

(a) 11011₂ = 27 and 1111₂ = 15, so the sum is 42.
42 = 32 + 8 + 2 = 101010₂.
(b) 5(2x - 1) = 2(3 - 4x)
10x - 5 = 6 - 8x
18x = 11
x = 11/18
(c) I = PRT/100
36,000 = (120,000 x R x 3)/100
36,000 = 3,600R
R = 10% per annum
