(i) Viviparity: a mode of reproduction in which the young develop inside the mother's body and are born alive, as in most mammals. (ii) Territoriality: behaviour by which an organism defends a specific area (its territory) against intrusion by other individuals, often of the same species, in order to secure resources such as food, mates, or breeding sites. (iii) Seasonal migration: the periodic, often annual, movement of animals from one habitat to another and back, usually in response to changes in season, food availability, or breeding requirements.
