1. Christians should pray always and remain spiritually alert to resist temptation. 2. Christians should study and know the word of God so they can use scripture to counter the devil's schemes, just as Jesus did. 3. Christians must apply the word of God practically in times of temptation rather than simply knowing it. (Other acceptable: Christians should avoid materialism; Christians should recognise that the devil is persistent and must be resisted with vigilance.)
