1. Peter admonished Christians to put away malice, guile, insincerity, envy, and slander. 2. He urged them to long for pure spiritual milk like newborn babies, so as to grow up into salvation. 3. He reminded them they are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, called to declare His wonderful deeds. 4. He appealed to them not to conform to worldly standards but to abstain from fleshly passions that war against the soul. 5. He urged them to maintain good conduct among non-believers, so that even accusers would see their good deeds and glorify God. 6. He advised submission to every human institution and authority, and to honour all people and love the brotherhood.
