Relevance of power sharing among the three tiers of government in Nigeria: (i) Power sharing encourages and promotes freedom and liberty of the citizens. The freedom and liberty of the citizens will be properly safeguarded since the powers are constitutionally shared among the arms of government and this ensures law counts (judiciary) the protest these rights and freedom. (ii) Power sharing brings should effectiveness and efficiency in the administration of Nigeria as each own will be dutifully engaged in its function without interference in overlapping it functions. (iii) Power sharing also leads to checks and balances which metals proper co-ordination of functions and affairs of state since one arm acts as a check or watchdog on the other. (iv) Proper power sharing also prevent the accommodation or centralization of power in one place or arm. This prevents the autocratic authoritarian nature of any arm. (v) Power sharing promotes peaceful administration while equally produces an atmosphere for economic and political growth.
