Diagram for question 30
  • A. 11/15
  • B. 17/35
  • C. 5/21Correct
  • D. 1932-07-01T00:00:00.000Z

Explanation

Applying the cosine rule with the side opposite alpha being XY=10: 10^2=9^2+7^2-2(9)(7)cos(alpha) => cos(alpha)=(100-81-49)/(-126)=-30/-126=5/21 (see diagram).
