The Civil/Public Service Commission is the body responsible for promotion, recruitment, discipline and dismissal of civil/public servants; its members are appointed by the President. Functions: I. Recruitment - the body responsible for recruiting people into the Public and Civil Service, after examinations and interviews. II. Retirement - retires civil servants due for retirement. III. Dismissal - has power to dismiss those violating rules and regulations of the service. IV. Promotion - promotes staff from one level to another. V. Discipline - takes disciplinary action against civil servants who violate the rules and regulations. (any four)
