What volume of 0.2 mol dm⁻³ NaOH solution will be required to neutralise 20 cm³ of 0.5 M H₂SO₄?

  • A. 25 cm³
  • B. 50 cm³
  • C. 75 cm³
  • D. 100 cm³Correct

Explanation

H₂SO₄ + 2NaOH → Na₂SO₄ + 2H₂O. Moles H₂SO₄ = 0.5×0.02 = 0.01 mol. Moles NaOH needed = 0.02 mol. V = 0.02/0.2 = 0.1 L = 100 cm³.
