Find the equation of the line which passes through (-2,1) and is perpendicular to the line 4x-2y+1=0.

  • A. 2y-x-4=0
  • B. 2y+x=0Correct
  • C. 2y-x=0
  • D. y-2x-5=0

Explanation

4x-2y+1=0 gives gradient m1=2. Perpendicular gradient m2=-1/2. Through (-2,1): y-1=-1/2(x+2). 2y-2=-x-2. 2y+x=0.
