(i) I. ZnO + H2SO4 → ZnSO4 + H2O II. ZnO + 2NaOH + H2O → Na2Zn(OH)4 (ii) These equations demonstrate the amphoteric nature of ZnO — a substance is amphoteric if it can react with both an acid and a base.
