Model answer

When chlorine water is exposed to sunlight, it decomposes to give hydrochloric acid (HCl) and oxygen (O2): Cl2 + H2O → HCl + HOCl, then HOCl →(sunlight)→ HCl + ½O2. The two products are HCl and O2.
