The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah stipulated: no war for ten years; the Muslims would not enter Makkah that year but could return the following year; no one should come armed except with sheathed weapons; and anyone wishing to join either the Muslims or the non-Muslims could do so, with those coming to Madinah to join the Muslims being returned. There was no clause that the Prophet should not be recognized as leader.
