The temperature of an object is raised by 120 C. The resulting increase in its absolute temperature is

  • A. 50 K
  • B. 120 KCorrect
  • C. 200 K
  • D. 393 K

Explanation

Given delta(theta)=120 deg C. Since delta(T in Kelvin)=delta(T in Celsius), the resulting increase in absolute temperature is 120 K. It is however important to note that temperature in Kelvin is not the same as temperature in degree Celsius; it is the changes in both that are the same. T(K)=273+T(C).
