3.(d) Name the compound formed when iron is exposed to moist air for a long time. (i) Write a balanced chemical equation for this reaction. (ii) Name one ore of iron.

The compound formed is hydrated iron (III) oxide (rust). (i) 4Fe + 3O₂ + 2xH₂O → 2Fe₂O₃.xH₂O. (ii) Common ores of iron include: Magnetite, Haematite, Iron pyrite, Siderite, and Limonite (any one).
