Model answer

(a) THE TEACHING OF JAMES IN WHICH HE REMARKED THAT CHRISTIANS SHOULD LOVE THEIR NEIGHBOUR AS THEMSELVES: i. James teaches that if we really fulfil the royal law, according to the scripture that we shall love our neighbour as ourselves, we do well. ii. But if we show partiality, we commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. iii. For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point of it has become guilty of all of it. iv. For he who said, 'Do not commit adultery,' said also, 'Do not kill.' If you do not commit adultery but do kill, you have become a transgressor of the law. v. So, speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. vi. Judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment. (b) IDENTIFY THREE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF DISCRIMINATION AMONG CHRISTIANS: i. It brings disunity among Christians. ii. It hinders love. iii. It hinders growth in faith. iv. It increases sin.
