They litter markets, gutters, and schools, do not decompose easily, block drainage systems, and cause flooding when it rains. Secondly, plastic waste harms animals and marine life. Cows, goats, dogs, fish, and birds often mistake plastic for food, leading to slow and painful deaths. Another serious concern is the impact on human health. Burning plastic bags releases toxic fumes that cause breathing problems, and microplastics have started showing up in our food and water, posing long-term health risks. I understand some members of the public may worry about alternatives, but reusable cloth bags, paper bags, and biodegradable packaging are widely available. If the council supports small businesses in producing these alternatives, the transition will be easy. In conclusion, banning plastic bags is about protecting the community we love. At their wedding, Ada's father finally spoke, his voice cracking: he once thought love was foolish, but now saw it as the strongest force on Earth.
