5. (Essay - Topic 5) Write a story to illustrate the saying: Love conquers all.
Model answer
(Story) LOVE CONQUERS ALL In the bustling city of Lagos, Ada, a polished lawyer from a wealthy family, met Tunde, a roadside mechanic, in a traffic jam. Despite their different worlds, Tunde's confidence, wisdom, humour, and humility drew Ada in, and their friendship deepened over time into love. When Ada's parents discovered the relationship, their home turned into a battleground. Her father called Tunde 'common'; Ada firmly replied that he was 'real'. Friends mocked her, and Tunde's community warned him she would never truly choose him. Still, they resisted pressure to stay apart. One stormy evening, Tunde arrived at Ada's gate, drenched, declaring he had no riches but a full heart and would fight for her even alone. Ada ran to him without hesitation. She resigned from her father's law firm to open a free legal clinic in Tunde's neighbourhood, while Tunde took evening classes, expanded his garage, and became a respected entrepreneur. At their wedding, Ada's father finally spoke, his voice cracking: he once thought love was foolish, but now saw it as the strongest force on Earth. In the end, love did what pride, riches, and fear could not - it conquered all.
