8. Given that p=(8N, 030°) and q=(9N, 150°), find, in component form, the unit vector along (p−q).

Converting bearings to components (x=r sinθ, y=r cosθ): p = 8(sin30°, cos30°) = (4, 6.93) q = 9(sin150°, cos150°) = (4.5, −7.79) p−q = (−0.5, 14.72) |p−q| = √(0.25+216.7) ≈ 14.73 Unit vector along (p−q) ≈ (−0.034i + 0.999j).
