16. Bala sold an article for #6,900.00 and made a profit of 15%. Calculate his percentage profit if he had sold it for #6,600.00
- A. 5%
- B. 10%Correct
- C. 12%
- D. 13%
Explanation
First find the cost price: 15% = (6900−C.P.)/C.P. ×100% ⇒ 0.15C.P.=6900−C.P. ⇒ 1.15C.P.=6900 ⇒ C.P.=#6,000. If sold for #6,600: profit% = (6600−6000)/6000 ×100% = 600/6000×100% = 10%.
